Practical technical guidance, not a guarantee
LUXI information, recommendations, selection charts, process descriptions and other materials are provided solely as general practical guidance based on our own experience, the materials available to us and typical working conditions. They do not guarantee a particular result and do not replace a professional assessment of a specific item, material, coating, equipment setup or production process.
The actual polishing result depends on many factors outside LUXI's control, including alloy composition and quality, previous processing steps, surface condition, hidden casting defects, porosity, item geometry, surface area, wheel condition, equipment type, speed, pressure, temperature, compound quantity, operator skill, individual polishing technique, subsequent cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, chemical treatment, plating and the condition of any existing coating.
The user decides independently whether and how to apply LUXI recommendations and is responsible for preliminary testing, process selection and assessing whether a procedure is suitable for the specific item. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LUXI is not liable for application errors, item damage, surface defects, breakage, coating loss, changes in color or gloss, reduced commercial appearance, production losses, lost profit, or any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, published recommendations.
User responsibility and process control
The operator is responsible for selecting the process parameters, monitoring temperature, pressure, wheel condition and visual result, and stopping or adjusting the process when the specific item requires it. LUXI recommendations should be applied with professional judgement and controlled testing.
Warning for plated or coated surfaces
Coated surfaces may include electroplating, flash plating, PVD/CVD coatings, lacquers, e-coats, anti-tarnish layers and other decorative or protective films. These coatings may differ in thickness, hardness, adhesion, porosity, chemical resistance and resistance to mechanical polishing. Mechanical polishing may thin, remove, discolor, detach or otherwise damage such coatings, or expose a different underlayer.
LUXI cannot assess the coating type, thickness, composition, adhesion or repair strategy on a specific item. Do not polish coated surfaces unless the coating type, thickness and repair strategy are understood and tested. LUXI is not responsible for coating damage, abrasion, appearance changes, reduced adhesion, local removal, complete removal, discoloration or exposure of the substrate when using LUXI compounds, wheels, equipment or recommendations.
