Troubleshooting

Compound falls off the brush

The compound does not stay on bristles or fibres long enough to polish effectively.

Loose neutral compound fragments falling from the tips of a small brush onto a metal surface.

Symptoms

  • Compound falls away from the brush quickly.
  • The brush reaches the recess but the polishing action remains weak.
  • The operator keeps adding compound without improvement.

Likely causes

  • The compound may not adhere well to bristles at low temperature.
  • The brush is overloaded or too dirty.
  • The selected compound is too dry for the carrier.

Checks

  • Check whether the brush is clean and lightly charged.
  • Check whether the carrier is bristle, radial brush, thread or cord.

Recommended fixes

  • Use LUXI Purple sparingly and keep the brush lightly charged.
  • Clean the brush before reapplying compound.
  • Avoid loading the brush heavily to compensate for poor transfer.

Prevention

  • Use LUXI Purple for brush and fibre carriers when retention matters.
  • Reapply small amounts only after the brush is clean enough to transfer compound.
