Troubleshooting

Recesses are still dull before plating

Dull recessed areas should be checked before plating, PVD or decorative coating because later correction may be risky.

Symptoms

  • Open areas are bright, but recesses remain dull before coating.
  • The item is close to plating or PVD, but recessed details are not visually ready.

Likely causes

  • The standard wheel route did not reach the recess.
  • The brush or thread route was not developed before coating preparation.
  • Residue may hide the true surface state.

Checks

  • Clean the item and inspect recesses under strong light.
  • Check whether brush or thread access is needed.
  • Decide whether coating should wait until the recess is corrected.

Recommended fixes

  • Correct recess brightness before coating when practical.
  • Use LUXI Purple brush or thread routes for difficult access.
  • For delicate cases, use the controlled LUXI Green route rather than forcing an aggressive correction.

Prevention

  • Make recess inspection part of the pre-plating checklist.
  • Do not assume coating will hide dull preparation.
