Troubleshooting

Thread polishing is too slow

Cotton thread or cord gives access, but progress is slow because the contact is very cool and lightly loaded.

Thread polishing in inaccessible areas

Symptoms

  • Thread reaches the area but progress is very slow.
  • The compound seems present but the surface changes little.

Likely causes

  • Thread polishing has very low effective surface speed.
  • The contact area is tiny and the carrier holds little compound.
  • The selected problem may need brush access or prior smoothing first.

Checks

  • Check whether the area is only dull or still rough.
  • Check whether a small brush can safely reach part of the geometry.
  • Check compound retention on the thread.

Recommended fixes

  • Use thread polishing as an access route, not as a fast stock-removal method.
  • Use LUXI Purple sparingly and inspect often.
  • If the surface is still rough, correct it with an appropriate brush or small-tool route first.

Prevention

  • Reserve thread and cord for final access and local correction.
  • Prepare the recess as well as possible before using thread.
