LUXI Purple is too aggressive for a delicate surface

Excessive action during LUXI Purple brush or thread work requires checking carrier, contact and surface suitability, not treating LUXI Green and LUXI Purple as interchangeable weaker and stronger stages.

Delicate openwork with one flattened abraded patch beside preserved fine relief.

Symptoms

  • The surface changes too quickly.
  • Fine edges or delicate areas lose control.
  • The finish becomes uneven after brush or thread work.

Likely causes

  • The carrier, contact or surface condition may be unsuitable for the selected LUXI Purple branch.
  • Pressure, dwell time or compound amount was too high.

Checks

  • Check whether the carrier, geometry, access and entry condition are suitable for the separate LUXI Purple brush or thread/cord route.
  • Check pressure and time on the surface.

Recommended fixes

  • Stop uncontrolled contact, reduce pressure, shorten contact time and inspect. Use the separate LUXI Green route only if a suitable cotton/felt carrier and item condition permit it; do not transfer LUXI Green to the LUXI Purple brush or thread carrier as a weaker substitute.
  • Use less compound and avoid staying in one area.

Prevention

  • Check the carrier and surface suitability before selecting the separate LUXI Green or LUXI Purple route.
  • LUXI Purple is not a universally stronger next stage after LUXI Green; keep the bristle-brush and cotton-thread/cord branches separate from cotton/felt work.
