Troubleshooting

Surface bright but not optically smooth

The first-stage surface layer may need soft final smoothing with LUXI Super Fine White or LUXI Orange.

Symptoms

  • Surface is bright after first stage but does not look optically refined.
  • The surface looks closed or smeared but not finally smooth.

Likely causes

  • The first-stage Beilby-type surface layer has formed but has not been final-smoothed.
  • Final polish was too aggressive, too hard or skipped.

Checks

  • Confirm visible scratches are removed before final polishing.
  • Check whether the final wheel is soft and unstitched.

Recommended fixes

  • Use LUXI Super Fine White with a white unstitched flannel or cotton buff for standard high lustre.
  • Use LUXI Orange with a white unstitched flannel or cotton buff for premium or pre-coating finish.

Prevention

  • Keep final polishing soft and avoid unnecessary aggressive metal removal.
