This is a workshop test, not a promise that LUXI will remove a fixed number of abrasive steps. The test starts from the workshop’s actual current sanding sequence and compares controlled samples.
When this test is useful
Use this test when a workshop already has a stable multi-step abrasive polishing process and wants to find whether LUXI first-stage compounds can safely shorten it.
Typical cases:
- the current process uses several fine abrasive stages before polishing;
- the workshop wants fewer steps without losing surface quality;
- the operator is unsure where LUXI should enter the process;
- a new alloy, shape or production task needs a repeatable test before changing the working process.
What not to do
Do not copy somebody else’s abrasive sequence.
Do not start from fixed grit numbers.
Do not assume that one LUXI compound will replace every earlier operation.
Do not judge only by immediate shine. The selected result must pass quality control after cleaning and inspection.
Test setup
Record the workshop’s current abrasive sequence as it is used today. Prepare identical sample pieces from the same material and geometry. Stop each sample at a different stage of the current abrasive process.
Each sample should then be tested with an appropriate LUXI first-stage compound and a clean, correctly prepared wheel. Change only one variable at a time: abrasive stop point, compound, wheel, pressure or contact time.
Choosing the LUXI first-stage compound
For each abrasive stop point, use testing to choose the optimal LUXI first-stage compound.
The right choice is not simply the most active option. It is the compound and wheel combination that forms the surface cleanly, removes the remaining preparation marks, keeps geometry under control and leaves the item ready for finishing.
Finishing and quality control
After the first-stage test, finish the sample with LUXI Super Fine White on a clean finishing wheel.
Then clean and inspect the result. Use quality control to compare:
- remaining preparation marks;
- surface smoothness;
- gloss stability after cleaning;
- geometry preservation;
- time and repeatability;
- operator control.
The optimal result is the shortest safe working process that still passes quality control. If a shorter process leaves scratches, waves, unstable shine or cleaning problems, it is not the correct result.
