Troubleshooting

Pores remain in recesses

A recessed area remains porous or rough after normal brush polishing and may need local aggressive smoothing.

Symptoms

  • Small pores, pits or roughness remain in hard-to-reach recesses.
  • The area stays uneven even after a softer brush route.

Likely causes

  • The recess contains casting porosity or rough preparation marks.
  • A soft brush route is not aggressive enough for local smoothing.
  • The problem may be too deep to solve by polishing alone.

Checks

  • Inspect under magnification and separate residue from true porosity.
  • Check whether local smoothing is safe for the geometry.
  • Decide whether the defect should be repaired rather than polished.

Recommended fixes

  • Use LUXI Asian Blue with a short stiff brush only as a controlled local aggressive starting point.
  • Stop before overcutting detail edges.
  • Return to LUXI Purple or a suitable final route after local correction.

Prevention

  • Inspect recesses before final finishing and before coating.
  • Do not hide deep casting defects behind polishing recommendations.
