Troubleshooting

Scratches remain on flat surfaces

Large contact area can reduce pressure per unit area and make the base first-stage route too mild.

Large planar surfaces first-stage escalation

Symptoms

  • Scratches remain visible on a flat/open surface after the base first stage.
  • The same route works on smaller areas but not on the flat surface.

Likely causes

  • Large contact area reduces pressure per unit area and local shear.
  • The first-stage route is too mild for the surface area.

Checks

  • Estimate the visible surface area being polished at one time.
  • Inspect after short passes rather than polishing for a long time blindly.

Recommended fixes

  • Increase first-stage aggressiveness instead of only pressing harder: LUXI Yellow, then LUXI Black, then LUXI Black + Sisal buff if needed.
  • Return to final polishing only after visible scratches are removed.

Prevention

  • Estimate contact area before choosing the first-stage route.
  • Inspect after short passes and avoid indefinite pressure increase.
