Keeping the wheel clean in LUXI polishing

Keep the wheel dry, clean and lightly charged; clean with coarse silicon carbide stone after two or three compound reapplications.

Process steps

Avoid overloading the wheel with compound.
After two or three compound reapplications, dress the wheel.
Use a coarse silicon carbide stone.
Clean until the surface is light grey and dry.
Reapply only a very small amount of compound.
Continue polishing with visual control.

User responsibility and process control

The operator is responsible for selecting the process parameters, monitoring temperature, pressure, wheel condition and visual result, and stopping or adjusting the process when the specific item requires it. LUXI recommendations should be applied with professional judgement and controlled testing.
